Hundreds have reportedly been killed after an Israeli Defence Force targeted and hit the Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, victims include healthcare professionals and people who were being treated after sustaining injuries in prior bombings.

While initial reports were that up to 500 people died in attack, authorities have so far confirmed 300 deaths including those of already wounded people.

The strike on the facility comes on the back of a desperate plea by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

The bombing also comes an hour after US President Joe Biden announced he was headed for Israel to among others show support for the Zionist state as well as to lobby governments of neighbouring Arab countries to join in condemnation of libration movement HAMAS as not being the ideal representative for the people of occupied Palestine.

“I’m traveling to Israel tomorrow to stand in solidarity in the face of Hamas’s brutal terrorist attack and to consult on next steps. I’ll then travel to Jordan to meet with leaders and address dire humanitarian needs—and make clear that Hamas does not stand for Palestinians’ right to self-determination,” said Biden on his official X account.

This week the Israeli defence force confirmed it was bombing Gaza indiscriminately claiming there were no innocent civilians in the area.
