Internationally renowned comedian and media personality, Trevor Noah will host the prestigious 2025 Grammy Awards event for the fifth consecutive time on 02 February at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA. “Returning as host, Grammy nominee #Trevor Noah will lead a special Grammy telecast, a night that will only celebrate the year in music but raise additional fund to support wildfire relief efforts, to pay tribute to the bravery and dedication of first responders and honour the resilient spirit of Los Angeles,” read the Grammy’s announcement published on X. Noah makes history as the first comedian to achieve such a milestone. The record was previously attained by music icons, with the likes of LL Cool J who hosted the event five times and Andy Williams who presented it seven times. The former Daily Show presenter is also nominated for the second time under the Best Comedy Album category. Last year he was recognised for I wish You Would but lost to fellow comedian Dave Chappelle. His latest accolade had Mzansi feeling proud and wishing him well on the upcoming gig. Colleague in the industry and friend, radio personality Anele Mdoda, is one of the people who couldn’t hold back on the excitement of the news. In the famous words of music producer DJ Khaled, she reposted the announcement with the caption “Another one” followed by a set of celebratory emojis. The star in question hasn’t posted anything about the announcement on his socials, but fans are always guaranteed entertainment and good laughs when he’s on stage. Meanwhile, Beyoncé leads with 11 nominations for the Cowboy Carter album while Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish bagged 6 and 7 nods respectively.
