The murder case against five men accused with the murder of musician Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, has been transferred to the Durban High Court.

The accused are Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindani Ndimande, Siyanda Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni and Lindokuhle Ndimande.

“Today the state served an indictment on the accused, and the case was remanded to 08 May 2025 for the accused to make their first appearance in the Durban High Court.

They’re charged with conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder,” said NPA Regional spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara.

The state also added two further charges of money laundering.

Two other suspects, siblings Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande, are challenging their extradition to South Africa from Swaziland.

The South African government had applied for them to return to the country to face the charges for their alleged involvement in the double murders.

AKA and Tibz were shot and killed outside a restaurant on Florida Road, just outside the Durban CBD, in February 2023.
