A research brief conducted by a Florida-based online platform, Digitalist Hub, has signalled notable changes in consumer trends related to Father’s Day gifts.
The day has long been associated with the most common gifting categories, such as ties, socks, gadgets, mugs, and gift cards.
According to Digitalist Hub, presents are now focusing on identity and preference rather than the occasion itself.
These emerging trends were identified through an examination of Father’s Day conversations observed across social media platforms and market activity.

“Personalisation continues to gain importance as consumers seek gifts that communicate familiarity, memory, and shared experience. Humour remains a common engagement mechanism, but emotionally specific content appears more closely associated with purchase-oriented discussions. Nostalgia, collecting, craftsmanship, and hobby-based interests emerged across multiple gifting conversations. Premium purchases appear most justified when they communicate meaning, quality, taste, or significance rather than status alone,” the brief indicated.

It also noted that gift ideas are broadening beyond traditional masculinity.

“The observed gift ideas are not limited to tools, barbecuing, or generic sports products. Instead, they include storytelling products, collectible design objects, premium drinks, curated lists, and luxury gift guides,” it added.

Moreover, the research also revealed what it described as design-led nostalgia gifts for first-time fathers.
Top picks include collectible objects, limited-edition design pieces and lifestyle goods related to cultural memory, among others.
Despite the change in trends, quality time remains the most priceless gift for most fathers on the day.
This year’s Father’s Day theme is celebrated as “Fathers: Guiding Strength and Building Futures”.
