Kaizer Chiefs and sportswear partner Kappa have unveiled the club’s new home and away jerseys for the 2026/27 season, with the designs drawing on Zulu culture, the club’s history and its “The Kingdom Rises” campaign.

The new home jersey retains Chiefs’ traditional gold colour, featuring subtle geometric patterns inspired by Zulu shields, black pin-stripes and a black collar.

The away strip is predominantly black, with gold and grey zigzag detailing forming a V-shape across the chest. The club said the design resembles a lion’s mane and pays tribute to the memorable 1989 and 1992/93 seasons.

For the first time, both jerseys will be available in limited long-sleeve versions. The home jersey will also be released in a tailored women’s cut.

Chiefs said the jerseys, for both players and supporters, are made from recycled materials and use Kappa’s performance fabric technology to help manage sweat and rain in difficult weather conditions.

Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung said the new range was designed to reflect the club’s identity and seasonal mantra.

“Like we have done over the past three seasons, we have worked hard to come up with glamorous and stylish designs that manifest the spirit of our mantra for the season, The Kingdom Rises, intended to make our players and supporters stand out and be noticed, whether at the stadium or elsewhere,” Motaung said.

“The away jersey roars with pride and is one very strong jersey. We thank Kappa again for their partnership and look forward to another season of success on and off the field.”

Kappa South Africa representative Ricky Joseph said the latest kits combine trendiness, history and culture.

“It is an honour to have South Africa’s biggest club, Kaizer Chiefs, wearing the Kappa kit so proudly,” Joseph said.

“As we get into our fourth year, we truly believe that supporters and players will enjoy wearing these new kits. I once again congratulate our design team in Italy for maintaining such a high level of creativity. I believe that this season’s Kaizer Chiefs designs are our best yet, perfectly combining trendiness, history and culture all in one.”

The jerseys are available for pre-order online, with supporters able to customise them with names and numbers.

The official in-store release is scheduled for Friday, 24 July, at selected retailers including Totalsports, Studio 88, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Mike’s Sport.

The recommended retail price is R1,399 for the short-sleeve replica jersey and R1,599 for the long-sleeve version. The full range, including training, travel and warm-up gear, will also be available through the club’s official retail platforms and Kappa stores
