ActionSA Denies Claims That Xolani Khumalo Has Joined Nkosindiphile Xhakaza’s Ekurhuleni Executive

ActionSA has distanced itself from reports claiming that its Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate, Xolani Khumalo, has been appointed to the City of Ekurhuleni’s executive.

The reports followed a media statement announcing changes to the mayoral cabinet of Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, which allegedly included Khumalo as a Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC).

ActionSA’s National Chairperson, Michael Beaumont, dismissed the claims as false and fabricated. He stressed that the party has consistently refused to support or participate in what it describes as a failing administration.

“Our position has been very clear on every occasion that we will not lend credibility to an administration that has overseen the lawlessness and deterioration of service delivery that continues to cripple the city. We have consistently made it clear that we will not join Mayor Xhakaza’s failing government and have rejected every personal and formal approach made to us,” Beaumont said.

He reaffirmed the party’s intention to contest the mayoral position with Khumalo and to restore stability in the metro.

“The people of Ekurhuleni are tired of dysfunction, lawlessness and the collapse of basic municipal services. ActionSA’s focus remains on restoring governance, cleaning out corruption, restoring the rule of law and fixing the fundamentals of service delivery. These priorities we intend to implement when we secure a clear mandate from residents in the upcoming local government elections,” Beaumont added.

The party has urged residents to verify any announcements regarding leadership changes or appointments through its official communication platforms.
