The two brothers sought in connection with the murders of musician Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, will be extradited to South Africa next week from Eswatini.
Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande withdrew their appeal against extradition from Eswatini to South Africa.
The brothers were arrested in Mbabane, Eswatini, after fleeing the country following the murder of AKA and Tibz and opposed South Africa’s extradition applications.
Justice and Constitutional Development Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has confirmed that she received a receipt of the official extradition order from the Eswatini for the Ndimande’s.
According to Kubayi, the acting Prime Minister of Eswatini has granted the extradition order.
“The Department has received confirmation that the pair will be brought back to South Africa on 11 November 2025 to stand trial on charges that include murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
All logistical arrangements regarding their handover and collection will be coordinated by the South African Police Service (SAPS) through established diplomatic and law enforcement channels.
Further details regarding their court appearance in KwaZulu-Natal will be confirmed upon their arrival in South Africa,” read a statement from the department.
Meanwhile, the SAPS said it has received a surrender order from the Eswatini government, and it is finalising logistical arrangements to execute it next Tuesday.
“The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola takes this opportunity to thank the Eswatini authorities for their cooperation and assistance in firstly apprehending the pair and ultimately ensuring that they are brought back to the country to answer to crimes committed.
The SAPS remains confident that it has a watertight case against the pair, who face 24 charges relating to three cases.
These include conspiracy to commit murder, murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of automatic firearms and ammunition, amongst a host of other charges.
Interpol South Africa and Interpol Eswatini are in talks to arrange the handing over of the two wanted brothers,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe.
The brothers will join their five co-accused who were arrested in the country and are waiting for their pre-trial to begin in July 2026.
