The ANC is confident of victory ahead of its Siyanxoba rally scheduled for FNB stadium on Saturday.
Fikile Mbalula briefed the media on the sidelines of a site visit to the venue on Friday and said there’s been a change of mood in the country in favour of the ANC.
“Over the three months we’ve seen a shift in the mood. People are welcoming the message of the ANC. We have been to every corner of this country and our people appreciate the work that has been done by the ANC and are happy with progress made by the ANC in renewing itself,” said Mbalula.
Mbalula said despite being confident of victory the ANC is maintaining campaign momentum until the very final moment. “While we are confident of decisive victory, we can’t afford to be complacent. Even as we speak now the women’s league, youth league, Cosatu, veterans, the entire leadership of our movement are out there talking to voters and will keep the work going even after Siyanxoba rally,” said Mbalula.
Mbalula who said the ANC ran a clean as well as positive campaign and said complaints have been laid with the IEC and police against individuals allegedly involved in the vandalism of the party’s posters as well as Helen Zille who recently circulated a doctored poster labelling the ANC corrupt. President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the rally on Saturday.
