Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

A first-half brace from Viktor Gyökeres, either side of a goal from Bukayo Saka, ensured a dominant performance from the Gunners.

Arsenal started brightly and took the lead in the ninth minute when Saka beat Raúl Jiménez before setting up Gyökeres for a simple finish. The roles were reversed just before half-time, as Gyökeres provided the assist for Saka to score past former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Gyökeres sealed the win in stoppage time, heading in a cross from Leandro Trossard to take his tally to 21 goals in all competitions this season.

With an eye on Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Atlético Madrid, manager Mikel Arteta made several changes, including handing Saka the captaincy in the absence of Martin Ødegaard.

Arsenal now have 76 points from 35 matches, ahead of second-placed Manchester City on 70 points with two games in hand, while also holding a superior goal difference. Fulham sit 10th with 48 points, three behind west London rivals Brentford.
