The Economic Freedom Fighters has called for urgent funding for state utility Johannesburg Water to carry out much needed infrastructure development and maintenance. The EFF on Monday marched on the utility’s offices in the Johannesburg CBD demanding among others urgent infrastructure upgrades as well as for other forms of restrictions as opposed to complete water cuts. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has expressed confidence that Gauteng province will grow its economy and create much needed jobs. Lesufi delivered his State of the Province Address at the Tshwane Special Economic Automative Zone in Pretoria and said infrastructure development is at the centre of the province’s growth plan. Among others Lesufi gave updates on major infrastructure projects already underway such as the Gauteng-Limpopo rail project which is aimed at connecting the two provinces for easy movement between the two provinces. With at least three victims of the sexual assault and torture that allegedly happened at ZanZou club in Pretoria having come forward, a civil society organisation that cares for the boy child has called on South Africans to give them all the support they can.
