Russia has completed its shipments of tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, according to the country’s president, raising international concern. At a meeting of a Moscow-led economic bloc in St Petersburg, Alexander Lukashenko said the deliveries were finished in October – though he didn’t say how many or where they have been deployed. Tactical nuclear weapons, which are designed for use on the battlefield, have a short range and a low yield compared with much more powerful nuclear warheads fitted to long-range missiles. Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga has revealed that there have been 719 road fatalities in the country since 1 December. This is less than 32 deaths from the same period last year, which was 751, leading to a 4.3% decline in fatalities.  Chikunga said this in Villiers, Free State, where she was releasing the preliminary festive road season statistics. “Gauteng has recorded 187 fatalities which is a 23.8% increase compared to last year, KwaZulu-Natal 135 fatalities which is 6.3% decrease compared to last year, Limpopo 88 fatalities which is the same as the previous year, Mpumalanga 81 fatalities which is a 6.6%…

The North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Sello Lehari has assured the family of Matshidiso Mokotedi that he will leave no stone unturned until justice is served.
