The Department of Correctional Services has dismissed claims that Nigerian Televangelist Pastor Timothy Omotoso, received preferential treatment during his time at the St Albans Correctional Centre in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. The allegations made by a former police officer, who claims to have video evidence relating to the special treatment offered to Omotoso at the facility. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in KwaZulu-Natal, has announced that it’ll reopen the inquests into the deaths of Chief Albert Luthuli and Griffiths Mxenge. The reopening of the inquests follows recommendations that were made to the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, by the National Director of Public Prosecutions. “The two inquests will take place concurrently, in different court rooms, in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday, 14 April 2025. The North West Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Wessels Morweng has condemned the alleged rape of a seven-year-old girl in Ipelegeng, in Schweizer-Reneke.
