Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille has reiterated her call for the revision of visa regulations, specifically highlighting the implementation of visa enhancements like the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) and the Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS). The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) President Collen Malatji and Secretary General Mntuwoxolo Ngudle have been instructed to withdraw letters of suspension issued against each. The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) has confirmed that preparations are complete for its third annual prayer day, set to take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo. The South African Policing union (SAPU) has called on the newly trained police constables to be vigilant and protect themselves against criminals within the parameters of the law. The officers will be appended into the South African Police service (SAPS) after their pass out parade today across the country’s police academies. The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said it has noted a growing interest of aspiring independent candidates and new political parties who continue to register to contest next year’s much talked about municipal elections in the country. The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has hailed a landmark Pretoria High Court ruling declaring the Madibeng Local Municipality’s failure to provide basic water services to Klipgat C residents unconstitutional and in breach of the Water Services Act. The North West provincial government has welcomed the latest figures of the third quarterly Labour Force Survey released by Statistics South Africa’s Statistician General Risenga Maluleke on Tuesday in Pretoria. Maluleke announced that the country’s unemployment rate has dropped to 31.9% from 33.2% in the second quarter of this year. “While this brings the number of employed people to 17.1 million, eight million other people eligible to work still remain jobless,” said Maluleke/.
