Mpho Galetshitse Former Rustenburg Local Municipality Speaker, Sheila Mabale-Huma, was elected the new executive mayor at the first council meeting of this new term at the Rustenburg Civic Centre on Monday. Mabale-Huma received 47 votes, while Papi Rangwaga of Tsogang Civic Movement secured 26 votes and Pieter Malan of the DA managed only 16 votes. The reason behind a spike in new positive COVID-19 cases in Gauteng has been traced to City of Tshwane and young people are currently the most affected. This is according to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service.
