Tourism Deputy Minister Fish Mahlalela says the department will invest R300 million in tourism, in the next financial year. Mahlalela was speaking in Durban on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s Africa Travel Indaba and said the investment is necessary to grow the industry. “I’m pleased to announce that the Department of Tourism in the country is planning to spend almost R300 million in the next financial year, developing the enterprise and transforming the tourism sector,” he said. Soweto residents took their complaints to Human Settlements Minister Mmaloko Kubayi’s imbizo in Rockville, where some of them, mostly the elderly and women, said they have been waiting for houses for almost 30 years. The family of one of the two Soweto children who were brutally slain and their bodies left in the fields in White City and in Rockville last week said they had their suspicions all along that those nabbed by the police could have been behind the death of their child. The families of the two boys whose mutilated bodies were found in Rockville and White City in Soweto yesterday morning, were devastated by the brutal killings. Convicted murderer Rosemary ‘Nomiya’ Ndlovu is back in court, this time for conspiracy to kill a friend’s husband Justice Mudau so that his wife Nomsa Mudau could allegedly benefit from life insurance worth R1,5 million.
