Goalie Andile Dlamini of Banyana Banyana says the national team will use the two friendlies against Senegal to get ready for the major tournaments that are coming up later this year. It’s unclear if this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will occur, although the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations Women’s Championship is held in October at Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

Banyana Banyana will play their first match since losing to Nigeria in the Olympic qualifying tournament at the beginning of the month. In the upcoming weeks, they will play Senegal in two international friendlies. According to Dlamini, they plan to utilize the two friendly matches to get back on track in terms of performance and form.

“Senegal is a great team we are also a great side as Banyana we have been doing a great job we just need to make sure we play these friendly games to see where we can improve.”

Dlamini stated that they will use the two games to be ready for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the COSAFA Championship, should and when they occur.In addition to trying to win the COSAFA championship back, Banyana is the reigning WAFCON champion.
