Two of the four men accused of killing two anti-gang police officers and two women in Reiger Park on the East Rand have been denied bail, while the other two have been released on R5,000 bail each.

Boksburg Magistrates’ Court heard that all four accused face charges including four counts of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The bail proceedings also heard allegations of police misconduct, with fourth accused McFoolen Ford claiming that he was assaulted and intimidated by police before allegedly being forced to sign a statement linking him to the shooting.

The court has granted bail to accused number three and four, while accused number one and two will remain in custody.
