Build One South Africa (BOSA) has terminated the membership of former broadcaster and Gauteng MPL Ayanda Allie following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process that began in July 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, the party said it had made several attempts through engagement, consultation and mediation to resolve the matter, but ultimately found “no viable basis” to continue.
BOSA said Allie was given the opportunity to appeal the Board’s decision in accordance with the party’s constitution but chose not to do so, making the decision final.
The party did not disclose the reasons behind the disciplinary action.
“BOSA thanks Ms Allie for her service to the party and to the people of Gauteng and wishes her well in her future endeavours,” the statement said.
Allie, a former journalist at eNCA, SABC News and Talk Radio 702, joined BOSA in January 2024 as the party’s communications director. She later became BOSA’s sole representative in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
Before joining politics, Allie also served as spokesperson for the Department of Transport during Fikile Mbalula’s tenure as Minister of Transport.
Her departure comes after a photograph of her with ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba circulated publicly, sparking speculation about her relationship with the opposition party.
Following news of her termination, Allie posted a brief message on social media: “It is well.”
