Kaizer Chiefs netted three goals to nil against Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 at the FNB stadium on Saturday evening, to advance to the quarterfinals of Cup.
Amakhosi’s goals were scored by Gaston Sirino, Inacio Miguel and Pule Mmodi.
Sirino netted the hosts first goal in the 13th minute, when he put the ball into the top corner of the net.
Amakhosi were awarded a penalty late into the first half, and defender Inacio Miguel converted to extend the lead to 2-0, before Mmodi added the third goal in the 89th minute.
In an earlier game played at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Orlando Pirates secured a 3-1 victory against Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit, Baroka FC.
The defending champions were the first on the scoresheet, when Tshegofatso Mabasa opened his account in the 29th minute.
Mabasa then registered his second goal on the stroke of halftime, to ensure that the host have a healthy lead going into the second half.
Mabasa registered his second hattrick of the season, when netted the Buccaneers third goal in the 63rd minute.
Bakgakga’s consolation goal was scored by Sydney Malivha.
At the Dr. Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon, Marumo Gallants emerged victorious when they beat Amazulu FC 1-0.
Gallants goal was scored by Zimbabwean striker Junior Zindonga in the 18th minute of the match.
SuperSport United, Stellenbosch FC, and Durban City, have also advanced to the quarterfinals.
