The Democratic Alliance (DA) 2023 federal congress is currently in its penultimate day in Midrand, where the party will hopefully elect new leaders and discuss issues.

Every three years, the DA holds its federal congress, which is crucial to determining the party’s stances. This also includes discussions on the party’s resolutions, which will define the party’s mission and ideals for the next three years.

The party had a vote on a number of constitutional revisions on Saturday, and leadership contenders John Steenhuisen and Mpho Phalatse declared their campaigns over.

On Sunday morning, voting for a new leadership structure is anticipated to begin. The results are anticipated to be made public in the afternoon.

According to Steenhuisen, the federal leader who is chosen will be the most deserving. “There are no assurances in politics. Anything might happen between now and Sunday afternoon, “added he. Echoing Helen Zille’s viewpoints, a former leader.

If elected, Palatse will become South Africa’s first non-white woman to head a political party, making history.
