Media personality and DJ, Sibusiso ‘DJ Sbu’ Leone has sought to clarify and refute any involvement in the alleged corruption at the City of Ekurhuleni Municipality.
This emanates from evidence provided by the Municipality’s suspended head of the legal unit, advocate Kemi Behari at the Madlanga Commission on Monday.
According to Behari, Leope and ANC leader, Thembinkosi ‘TK’ Nciza, benefited from the Metro’s grants and were implicated in the investigation of more than R100 million.
DJ Sbu issued a statement on his Facebook account in response to what he described as false and misleading claims against him.
“These allegations, which attempt to implicate myself and businessman Thembinkosi TK Nciza, are entirely false, defamatory and without any factual basis. I categorically deny any involvement in wrongdoing, misconduct or unethical activity any kind. Throughout my career in broadcasting, entrepreneurship and public service, I have conducted myself with integrity, transparency and respect for the law. My work across media, business and community development has always been guided by principles of accountability and positive social impact”, he wrote.
DJ Sbu continued to express his concern adding that these allegations appear to be an attempt to divert the public’s attention by those who want to avoid taking accountability.
He is confident that his name will be cleared, as he committed to cooperate with any investigations and legal processes in the matter.
Behari’s allegations sparked mixed reactions from DJ Sbu’s fans on social media.
While others are prepared to consider all the facts, some have come out to criticize him for promoting hard work while benefiting from alleged corruption activities.
