The Hawks have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the killing of two police officers and two women in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday, by the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in Germiston following an intelligence-driven operation.
According to the Hawks, investigators traced the suspect to Ekurhuleni before apprehending him.
The latest arrest brings to three the number of suspects identified and charged in connection with the killings, which took place on 7 August 2026. The 27-year-old faces charges similar to those of his co-accused, one of whom is reportedly a relative.
He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 21 August. Acting National Head of the Hawks, Lieutenant General Sphesihle Nkosi, praised investigators for what he described as a swift and methodical operation. “The Hawks will remain steadfast in our efforts to investigate and apprehend those who involve themselves in taking innocent lives, particularly the lives of our law enforcement officers,” Nkosi said.
The investigation into the killings is continuing.
