Media personality Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, has alleged that there is a deliberate campaign aimed at damaging his reputation following his latest court appearance.

Speaking to journalists outside the Germiston Magistrate’s Court in east Johannesburg, Maarohanye said he is complying with all legal proceedings and strongly denies the allegations against him. His case has been postponed to 24 August for further investigation.

Maarohanye was arrested last week after an alleged altercation with an e-hailing driver and was granted R5 000 bail on 16 June.

He faces charges of pointing an object resembling a firearm and discharging it in a public space. He has denied wrongdoing, suggesting that efforts are being made to “put things together” to build a case against him.

Authorities have not yet responded to his claims of a reputation campaign.
