Kaizer Chiefs have completed the signing of Tanzanian international Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Azam FC for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joins Amakhosi after successful negotiations between the two clubs, becoming the first Tanzanian player to wear the famous Gold and Black jersey.
Mtasingwa arrives with extensive international experience, having spent six seasons playing in Scandinavia across the Icelandic, Norwegian and Finnish leagues. He returned to Tanzania in 2024, where he captained Azam FC and helped the club secure a third-place finish in the Tanzanian Premier League last season.
The midfielder is also the vice-captain of the Tanzanian national team, bringing leadership and experience to the Soweto giants’ midfield.
Chiefs welcomed their latest signing, saying: “We warmly welcome Adolf to the family and wish him success on his journey with the Glamour Boys.”
Mtasingwa’s arrival further expands Kaizer Chiefs’ long tradition of recruiting talent from across the African continent, with players from more than 20 African countries having represented the club over the years.
