The bail application of self-proclaimed Prophet Pastor Motsoeneng, popularly known as Mboro, his son Vincent, and bodyguard Vincent Baloyi, was postponed to 16 August by the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court in Katlehong,
The three appeared in court on charges related to the incident that took place at the Matshediso Primary School on 05 August 2024.
This after several videos went viral showing the accused brandishing dangerous weapons before allegedly forcefully removing two learners from the school premises.
“They face a string of charges including kidnapping, possession of dangerous weapons and of unlicensed firearms, possession of prohibited firearms, assault by way of threat, pointing of firearms, discharging of a firearm and malicious damage to property.
They were remanded in custody until 16 August 2024, for the state to prepare for the bail hearing and finalise investigations related to that hearing, including amongst others, the profiling of the accused and other information relevant for bail,” said Gauteng NPA spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane
In addition, the NPA said it further received three more dockets emanating from the same incident, wherein the Motsoeneng’s are complainants against the maternal family of the children.
“Mboro laid a complaint of common assault against the uncle and grandmother of the children, alleging that he was assaulted at the school whilst attending to his son’s complaint that he was not allowed to leave the school with his children, following his attempt to collect them from the school.
The other docket refers to a complaint laid by Mboro’s son wherein he alleges that he was assaulted by the grandmother of his children when he went to fetch them from the school.
The last docket is related to the assault charge laid by the Station Commander of Katlehong North Police, against the uncle of the children, alleging that he was attacked by him at the police station when he was attending to the altercation between the parties involved,” explained Mjonondwane.
The NPA said it didn’t enrol the case wherein Vincent is a complainant, pending further investigations.
The grandmother and uncle were each released on R1000 bail, and their case was postponed to 10 September.
