The case against Ngcebo Thusi accused of the murder of TUT student Ntokozo Xaba has been adjourned to 24 of May because the recording machine is broken. State prosecutor Mashudu Nembulunge said the recording machine was not working.
“Initially the matter was sat down for today for an opposed formal bail application. At this stage I am informed by the clerks that the machines are not working, they are not recording. I informed my colleague Advocate Bopape. I believe the admin part of this building is still looking for a court but we haven’t received anything concrete at this stage,” said Nembulunge.
In February the lifeless body of 21-year-old Xaba was found in her TUT residence in Pretoria with stab wounds.
It was reported that on 1 February 2023, Xaba was drinking with friends including her ex-boyfriend Thusi at a house in Pretoria Gardens. The friends reportedly left the two together. The following morning, Xaba was found dead with stab wounds in her neck.
At the time, Police spokesperson, Dimakatso Sello confirmed Thusi was arrested as a suspect in the murder.
