Police management in the North West have confirmed the murder of an off-duty constable in Ganyesa, outside Vryburg.
Spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the body of 30-year-old Boikanyo Molale, who was attached to Ganyesa Visible Policing, was discovered in the early hours of Saturday at Thokoza Section.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that Constable Molale was allegedly assaulted by an unconfirmed number of suspects. He was declared dead at the scene,” Mokgwabone said.
Two suspects, aged 22 and 27, have been arrested in connection with the murder and are expected to appear in court soon. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
“The Acting Provincial Commissioner has instructed the investigation team to track down the remaining suspects and ensure they face the full might of the law,” Mokgwabone added.
Authorities have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
