The investigation into the murder of Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has widened, with police searching for a woman allegedly linked to the planning of the killing.
Hlengiwe Buthelezi is wanted by investigators in connection with Stock’s murder. Police have released her photograph as efforts continue to locate people allegedly involved in the killing.
Stock was shot dead on 16 December 2025 outside the Zambesi Building in Johannesburg’s inner city.
Victor Majola, who remains in custody, is accused of orchestrating the killing. He faces charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
During Majola’s bail proceedings, investigators alleged that Buthelezi was linked to him and had provided personal information about Stock and his partner. She is also believed to have stayed at the building where Stock was killed.
The investigation comes as another accused in the case, Mozambican national Joaquim Armando Pacula, has already pleaded guilty.
Pacula admitted to Stock’s murder, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and contravening the Immigration Act. He told the court that he received R25,000 to carry out the killing.
He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Majola, however, continues to contest the allegations against him. He recently asked the Johannesburg High Court for more time to secure funding for his legal defence.
The court postponed the matter to September.
The latest developments have renewed scrutiny of alleged organised crime and power struggles surrounding buildings in Johannesburg’s inner city.
While Pacula’s guilty plea has established his involvement in the killing, the allegations against Majola and Buthelezi remain subject to the criminal justice process. Majola remains presumed innocent unless and until a court finds him guilty.
Police are continuing efforts to locate Buthelezi as the investigation into Stock’s death proceeds.
