South Africa has a new reigning queen — and she is ready to transform the crown into a catalyst for change. Qhawekazi Mazaleni was officially crowned Miss South Africa 2025 on a dazzling evening filled with glamour, powerful storytelling, and celebration of South African excellence.

Mazaleni triumphed over a strong cohort of finalists, after starting the competition as part of 10 contestants — a number reduced when one participant exited the pageant. But from the start, Mazaleni’s charisma, eloquence, and fierce determination made her one to watch.

The title of first runner-up went to Luyanda Zuma, while Karabo Mareka rounded out the prestigious Top 3 as second runner-up — both celebrated for their remarkable journeys and advocacy work throughout the competition.

Speaking moments after her win, the newly crowned queen expressed that her journey is not just about wearing the sash — it’s about uplifting the very people who supported her path to the stage.

Mazaleni now takes her place among a powerful lineage of Miss South Africa winners who have gone on to excel on global stages — in media, humanitarian leadership, and international pageantry.

Her reign will include representing South Africa at prestigious global pageants, engaging in national outreach programs, and becoming a visible voice for the country’s youth.
