According to the Presidency, the changes will affect the Ministries of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Environment; Trade, Industry and Competition; Electricity and Energy; Higher Education; and Water and Sanitation.
“Accordingly, President Ramaphosa will, in line with section 91(3)(b) of the Constitution, appoint Willem Aucamp as Minister of Agriculture and David Maynier as Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment,” said Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.
Furthermore, Magwenya stated that, in accordance with section 93(1)(a) of the Constitution, Ramaphosa has also appointed Deputy Ministers:
“John Steenhuisen as Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition; Alexandra Abrahams as Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy; Jack Bloom as Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation; and Yusuf Cassim as Deputy Minister of Higher Education,” explained Magwenya.
Meanwhile, Ramaphosa has appointed Dina Pule as Minister of Social Development after the position became vacant in May, following the removal of former minister Sisisi Tolashe.
