Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng, who has since joined Belgian Pro League club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards, taking home the coveted Footballer of the Season award.
Mofokeng beat Orlando Pirates teammate Oswin Appollis and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena to claim the league’s highest individual honour. The three players were nominated by the head coaches of the 16 Betway Premiership clubs.
The talented forward also won the Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season award, capping off another outstanding campaign following his performances for the Buccaneers.
The Footballer of the Season award recognises the best performer in the Betway Premiership and is voted for exclusively by the league’s head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for players from their own clubs.
Among the other major winners, Orlando Pirates continued their strong showing as Kamogelo Sebelebele was named the Betway Premiership Players’ Player of the Season, an award voted for by players across all top-flight clubs.
The awards also recognised outstanding performances across the PSL’s various competitions, including the Motsepe Foundation Championship, MTN8, Carling Knockout, Nedbank Cup and DStv Diski Challenge.
The 2026 PSL Awards were broadcast live on SuperSport PSL Channel and SABC Sport on Monday evening, celebrating the standout players, coaches and match officials from the 2025/26 domestic football season.
