Lekompo musician, Lehlohonolo Chauke popularly referred to as ‘Shebeshxt’ or ‘Maburna’, has suffered another unsuccessful bail application.

The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday dismissed the bid on alleged new facts presented by Chauke.

The recent dismissal by the Polokwane Court marks Chauke’s third bail setback since his arrest back in November 2025.

A statement released by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo, revealed that he now faces a total of nine charges.

“These include assault, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, malicious property damage and attempted murder. During the bail proceedings, the State presented by Senior Public Prosecutor Advocate Kgaogelo Lekoloane submitted that the accused allegedly committed additional offences while out on bail in other matters before the Mankweng, Sheshego and Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Courts and this offence falls under schedule”, said the NPA.

It adds that Chauke must prove beyond reasonable doubt that his release is in the interests of justice.

Moreover, the court agreed with the state that no new facts had been presented and found that all relevant information had already been placed before the court during the initial bail proceedings.

The continuous denial of his bail has sparked a debate on social media, leaving users and his fans divided on whether he should be given a chance to redeem himself on the outside, or if he has still not learnt his lesson.

The matter has been postponed to 15 May 2026 for trial in the Polokwane Regional Court.
