With the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup group stages done and dusted, focus now shifts to the quarterfinals of the inter-club competitions.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants are Mzansi’s representatives, after they both secured top spots in their group stages following the round of fixtures played.

Being group leaders means when the quarter-final draw is conducted, winners will be paired with the runners-up and teams from the same group cannot face each other again.

Masandawana secured top spot in Group B after beating Coton Sport 2-1 at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

The newly crowned DStv Premiership champions are likely to be pitted against JS Kabylie (Group A), Simba SC (Group C) or CR Belouizdad (Group D).

In the past three seasons, Sundowns has struggled to make it past the Champions League quarter-final stage, and this time around hope to reach the semi-finals.

Marumo Gallants have been rather impressive in their maiden Confed Cup group stage campaign, compared to the domestic league, as they find themselves at the bottom of the DSTV Premiership log standings after recording just 3 wins the entire season.

On Sunday, Gallants, popularly known as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, came from two goals down to beat Saint Eloi Lupopo 3-2. The result saw them top Group A with 12 points ahead of USM Alger, who collected 11 points.

Gallants will find out who their next opponents are between Rivers United (Group B), Pyramids (Group C) or Monastir (Group D).

The Quarter Final Draw for the 2022/23 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup will be conducted on Wednesday 05 April 2023 in Cairo, Egypt at 20:30.

TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Quarter Finals – Qualified teams
CR Belouizdad (Algeria), Esperance Tunis (Tunisia), JS Kabylie (Algeria), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Raja CA (Morocco), Simba SC (Tanzania), Wydad AC (Morocco), Al Ahly (Egypt) or Al Hilal (Sudan)

TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Quarter Finals – Qualified teams
Rivers United (Nigeria), ASFAR Club (Morocco), US Monastir (Tunisia), Asec Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), Marumo Gallants (South Africa), Young Africans (Tanzania), Pyramids FC (Egypt) or Future FC (Egypt), Al Akhdar SC (Libya) or FC Saint Éloi Lupopo (DR Congo) or USM Alger (Algeria)
