The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that a warrant of arrest has been issued for media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye after he failed to appear in court.
Maarohanye was due to appear at the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on Monday but was a no-show, citing alleged health reasons.
He is facing two charges of discharging a firearm in a public place and pointing anything likely to lead a person to believe that it is a firearm. The charges stem from an alleged confrontation involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale in June.
NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlo said the warrant would subsequently be held over until Maarohanye’s next court appearance.
“The case against media personality Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, popularly known as ‘Jub Jub’, has been postponed by the Germiston Magistrates’ Court to 7 September 2026.
“The postponement follows his failure to appear in court, citing ill health, which resulted in a warrant of arrest being issued and held over until the next date.”
