North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development Madoda Sambatha and his protectors were involved in an accident on Monday night.

The news of the accident was confirmed by the office of the North West Premier, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi.

“North West Premier, Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi takes this opportunity to inform the residents of North West that MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Madoda Sambatha and his Protectors were involved in an accident near Derby at Kgetleng Local Municipality on the evening of Monday, 15th July 2024.

The MEC was driving from Rustenburg to Klerksdorp on official duty.

Sambatha and his protectors survived the accident and have been admitted at the Klerksdorp Hospital at the City of Matlosana Local Municipality,” said Mokgosi’s spokesperson, Sello Tatai.

The Premier wished both the MEC and his protectors a speedy recovery.

Sambatha is the former Health MEC, and now heads the Agriculture and Rural Development portfolio following the May 29 elections that paved the way for the 7th administration.
