Iconic pop boy band, One Direction was brought back together by the untimely passing of band member, Liam Payne.

Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were seen together for the first time in nine years, at Payne’s funeral service in Amersham, England.

He passed on in October after allegedly falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fans have pleaded for the group’s reunion countless times following their announcement of a hiatus back in 2015 which came months after Malik’s exit from the band, but they never anticipated it would be under such sombre circumstances.

Formed in 2010. One Direction was one of the most successful boy bands having sold over 70 million records worldwide.

They also managed to top multiple music charts with hit records like Steal My Girl and Story of My Life amongst many others.

In a joint statement, the group described Payne’s death as devastating and is hoping to find comfort in the memories and love they shared with him.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to determine the mysterious fall that claimed Payne’s life.

Medical reports found traces of alcohol and drugs in his body, which suggest that he may have been half or totally unconscious when he fell.

Argentine authorities also announced the arrests of three people linked to Payne’s demise.
