The Rock shocks fans with Moana 2 physique

American actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has revealed that he didn’t have to go on a full transformation or to “bulk up” as he described it, for his character in Disney’s Moana 2.

He plays the headstrong shape shifting demigod called Maui, who accompanies Moana on her journey.

The Rock let viewers in on the secret behind his character’s solid muscular body, during a sit-down with media publication Extra after some images of him on set were leaked on social media.

“That’s a suit that took a long time to put on.

So, I’m so happy you said ‘You bulked up’ because that means you couldn’t tell.

The suit takes a couple of hours every day of transforming, putting it on,” explained Johnson.

The professional wrestler also shared his disappointment with the surfacing of the pictures, saying they did everything to keep the paparazzi away from the set.

It is not however surprising that fans would believe The Rock underwent a full makeover for a movie, especially after he transformed into UFC Champ, Mark Kerr, when he was shooting his biopic “The Smashing Machine” back in May this year.

The Rock was in the spotlight for becoming almost unrecognizable as he resembled the split image of Kerr, with short hair rather than his usual bald head, and his tattoos covered up.

Meanwhile, the press trail for Moana 2 has created a lot of buzz for the animated film globally.

It officially hit theatres from 27 November 2024 and is anticipated to break box office records soon.
