Former President Jacob Zuma to miss SONA again

Former President Jacob Zuma will not attend the State of the Nation Address (SONA) this evening in Cape Town, again.

This is according to the Jacob Zuma Foundation spokesperson, Mzwanele Manyi, during a media briefing outside the City Hall in Cape Town, where President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver his SONA.

“The people who run South Africa have orchestrated that he should not be here.

It was public information that there would be a fake SONA today, the judiciary must have known this.

But despite them knowing this they wanted him in Pietermaritzburg today.

So indeed, the system that hates Zuma ensured that he must not be here,” said Manyi.

The speaker of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane yesterday told the media that about 2000 guests have been invited to attend SONA, and Zuma and other former presidents, including Thabo Mbeki and Kgalema Motlanthe had confirmed their attendance.

Since he was removed from office, Zuma has snubbed few SONA invitations.
