The newly appointed ANC National Executive Committee deployees are expected to be introduced this weekend when the party will be holding its Regional General Councils (RGCs) in all the regions in the North West.
The provincial ANC confirmed that the RGCs for both Ngaka Modiri Molema and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati will be held simultaneously on Saturday in Mahikeng and in Taung respectively.
The Bojanala region will gather at the Rustenburg Civic Centre and Dr Kenneth Kaunda region at Auditorium Hall in Klerksdorp both on Sunday.
ANC provincial spokesperson Tumelo Maruping, said one of the subjects on the agenda will be the resolution of the party’s 55th National Conference, which will be announced today by ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.
Soviet Lekganyane, a former ANC Limpopo Secretary, will be leading the team as the North West Convener. According to Maruping, the team will obviously be spread into all four regions.
“At the top of our discussions is our resolution of our National Conference that was held in December,” he said. Maruping said other pressing issues and challenges that South Africa faces will be discussed.
“The issue of the energy crisis and the top six programs of action that have been adopted by the National Executive Committee will be discussed,” he said.
Maruping said the RGCs will not be touching on the issue of the provincial conference, where there is still a pending issue of disgruntled ANC councillors who are waiting for a team from the ANC’s national office to complete the investigation of allegations of manipulation of councillor candidate lists during the 2021 Local Government Elections.
