The Madlanga Commission has postponed the testimony of alleged criminal mastermind Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, whom it had summoned to appear before it on Tuesday morning. Anti-immigration groups have accused the government of attempting to silence them after their representatives were removed from the National Dialogue. According to WhatsApp chats, Khan appears to have worked with, among others, businessman Mo Sayeed and Molefe Fani, the suspended SAPS Divisional Commissioner for Procurement. The Madlanga Commission chairperson, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, has slammed General Firoz Khan’s legal team for suggesting that his life was put at risk by leaks from the inquiry. The relocation is expected to prevent asylum seekers whose applications are declined from absconding and remaining in the country illegally.
