Fourty-two of the 46 victims of horrific Easter bus accident at the Mamatlakala bridge on the R518, have been positively identified through the DNA processes. The number includes the six that were identified immediately after the accident. The victims, from Molepolole in Botswana, were on their way to attend a service at the St Engenas Zion Christian Church in Moria, when their bus plunged nearly 50 metres off the bridge last month. The family of one of the learners who drowned during a discipline camp at Rock Falls Adventure Ranch in Centurion on Monday, Siphamandla Peterson, wants justice. Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) has announced that the annual consumer price index (CPI) inflation dropped from 5.6% in February to 5.3% in March. According to Stats SA this is the biggest increase in two-months. Two learners from the Daveyton Skills School, in the East Rand, have drowned in a man-made dam at a private camping site near the Hennops River in Centurion during a school excursion on Monday. The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) has recalled two batches of Benylin Paediatric Syrup, after high levels of diethylene glycol were detected in a batch of the Syrup. Diethylene glycol is toxic to humans when consumed and can prove fatal. Toxic effects can include abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, inability to pass urine, headaches, altered mental state, and acute kidney injury which may lead to death.
