South Africa’s state-owned company, Eskom, has for the second consecutive year been recognised as a Top Employer in the country for 2026.
The utility received the same accolades last year as a “testament to its commitment to creating an exceptional workplace environment, developing and embedding cutting-edge Human Resources (HR) policies, and people practices.”
It has been recognised amongst 2500 organisations across 131 countries as impacting the lives of its employees positively by the Top Employers Institute, a global authority on transformational people practices, which has impacted over 14 million employees globally.
The Top Employers Certification is awarded to organisations that demonstrate excellence in Human Capital practices and prioritise creating an outstanding workplace.
According to the institute, the certification process is rigorous, independent, and data-driven, confirming that Eskom meets the highest international standards in supporting, developing, and caring for its people.
The entity’s Group Chief Executive Dan Marokane expressed his pride describing the recognition as a Top Employer for the second year in a row as a proud moment.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to creating an environment where our employees can thrive, grow, and contribute meaningfully to our mission of powering South Africa.
Our guardians are at the heart of Eskom’s success, and this certification affirms that we are on the right path in building a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready organisation,” said Marokane.
Eskom’s Chief People Officer, Dr Candice Hartley has also weighed in describing the recognition as more than an accolade.
