A 54-year-old North West woman is devastated after her lover whom she met through an online dating platform called Badoo scammed her out of more than R2 million of her pension pay-out and disappeared.

The Hawks in the province are searching for the man (pictured) whom they said is a person of interest who could help them in their investigation.

According to the provincial Hawks spokesperson Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso, the two were dating and the man who used a false name, proposed they get into a joint venture to start a business.

The woman from Mahikeng, resigned from her work and cashed out her pension which the man who calls himself David Nkunda allegedly stole and disappeared without a trace.

According to the police this incident happened between May and August 2022.   Tlangelani said the matter is under investigation and requested the community to help in locating the man.

Anyone with information on this man’s whereabouts is asked to contact Colonel Mornè Grobler on 082 334 8667.
