Leandro Trossard’s future at Arsenal appears increasingly uncertain after Turkish giants Besiktas reportedly reached an agreement with the Premier League champions for the Belgian forward.

Reports suggest Besiktas have agreed a €20 million (R371 million) package for Trossard, made up of an €18 million fixed fee and a further €2 million in add-ons. However, the transfer has not yet been finalised, with the Istanbul club still needing to agree personal terms with the 31-year-old.

Trossard is currently on international duty with Belgium at the World Cup, and discussions over his future are expected to continue once his national team commitments have concluded.

The reported move comes amid an emotional message attributed to Trossard, in which he reflected on his time at the Emirates Stadium and thanked Arsenal supporters for their backing.

“Arsenal will always feel like home to me. From the moment I arrived, this club embraced me, believed in me, and gave me some of the best moments of my career,” the message read.

“If it were entirely up to me, I’d stay here for many more years. Unfortunately, football isn’t always that simple, and sometimes decisions are made that are beyond a player’s control.”

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion in January 2023 and has become a valuable member of Mikel Arteta’s squad, producing important goals and assists in domestic and European competitions.

He added that he would remain grateful to his teammates, coaching staff and supporters regardless of what happens next.

“Wherever life takes me next, Arsenal will always hold a special place in my heart,” the message concluded.

Neither Arsenal nor Besiktas had officially confirmed the transfer at the time of publication. Reports indicate that the deal remains subject to an agreement on personal terms and the player’s final decision.
