US death toll in the Iran conflict stands at 3

The Pentagon and US Central Command confirmed Sunday that three American service members were killed and five others were seriously wounded (with additional troops sustaining minor shrapnel injuries and concussions). These are the first US fatalities since the joint US-Israeli operation began on February 28.

The deaths occurred during an Iranian counterattack on a US-linked base in Kuwait. No further American deaths have been reported in the latest updates from the Pentagon or major outlets.

President Trump has acknowledged the losses, vowed to “avenge” them, and warned that “more” US casualties are likely before the operation ends. He described the campaign as “ahead of schedule” but potentially lasting up to four weeks.

This figure has been consistent across official statements and reporting since the announcement yesterday, with no new casualties confirmed in the past 24 hours amid ongoing strikes and retaliatory attacks. The situation remains fluid.
