Eskom has planned to implement stage 4 load-shedding on Monday afternoon until 4pm, and stage 5 load-shedding until 5am on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, load-shedding will be reduced to stage 3 from 5am to 4pm.On Tuesday and Wednesday, stage 4 will be implemented from 4pm to 5am. A tower failure on one line from Mozambique has reduced electricity imports from the Cahora Bassa hydro scheme by half to 6OOMW.

An Arnot, Grootvlei, Kendal, Medupi, and Tutuka generating unit was brought back online over the weekend. However, the Camden, Majuba and Matimba power plants had to be taken offline for repairs due to the failure of one unit each.

Four open gas turbines at the Ankerlig power plant are out of service until March 15 for planned maintenance. The outages total 16,870 MW of generation capacity, and 4,757 MW of generation capacity is out of service for planned maintenance.
