The Portfolio Committee on Higher Education in Parliament has warned the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), against cancelling student accommodation agreements with unaccredited providers in the middle of the term. The committee says this will unfairly impact students and cause disruptions. The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) says the phased withdrawal of the country’s troops from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has commenced as of the 29th of April. The withdrawal was informed by an agreement reached by Heads of State and government during the SADC Extraordinary Summit which was held virtually in March this year.
