Pretoria – A Mamelodi man accused of the cold-blooded murder of his girlfriend and her cousin has abandoned his bail application, keeping him in custody as investigations continue into the shocking double killing. Tebogo Mnisi (38) appeared briefly in the Mamelodi Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. Police said they expect to make more arrests, following the discovery of R20 million worth of cocaine weighing about 80kg hidden at a small holding in Midrand. Over 185 motorists were arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officers for driving under the influence of alcohol across all regions of the city. According to the JMPD, these arrests took place across the city between 13 October and 19 October. “These arrests confirm a robust week of operations aimed at enhancing public safety and ensuring road traffic compliance, resulting in the apprehension of a significant number of offenders. Speeding and faulty brakes have been cited as some of the major contributing factors that led to the horrific bus accident that killed 43 people on the N1 North in Limpopo on Sunday.
