The South African Civil Aviation Authority, SACCA held a career exhibition as part of its Back2School Careers Programme at Tsogo High School in Mmakau, outside Brits in the North West. SACCA said it will visit several schools at the Madibeng Local Municipality throughout the week to expose the learners to the opportunities and possibilities in the aviation industry. The Department of Water and Sanitation has established a task team to find ways of providing uninterrupted water supply even during load shedding, according to Minister Senzo Mchunu. Mchunu was talking to journalists during a media briefing in Rustenburg, after receiving feedback from the task team set up to investigate water supply challenges in the North West Province that affect not only households, but health services and schools alike. The Rustenburg Local Municipality’s Joint Operating Committee is on high alert, following persistent rains that have hit the area since Tuesday night. Due to heavy downpours, a vehicle was reportedly flooded at Beiten Street in Rustenburg east. The municipality has urged residents and motorists to exercise caution, as it continues to rain. Five suspects accused of theft and fraud worth R590 000 appeared at the Rustenburg Magistrate Court on Wednesday. Solomon Motepe, Jaki Montsho, Michael Maledu, Christian Letlhake and Linky are said to be the executive committee members of Schaapkraal Communal Property Association (CPA), an association that consists of beneficiaries of the Schaapkraal Farm in Marikana. According to Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso the CPA had a contract with Eskom and a payment for the annual servitude rights was due from the power utility. The North West police have confirmed that four people were killed in an accident in the early hours of Monday at Jericho in Maboloka near Brits, North West. According to the police, four males who were in a light motor vehicle sustained extensive injuries and were all declared dead on the scene by paramedics. The provincial police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said it appeared that the vehicle lost control and came to a complete halt against the Eskom electric wires.
